I was hoping to get better at this whole updating thing, but then I found out that it has been about eight months since my last update. Hm. Well, It has been a lot going on during these months with both releases and gigs. So here is sort of a resumé of what is happening right now:
Earlier this year I released an EP called “Internal Organist” on Stanch Records, which recieved nice feedback and also a single called “Cork Tree” on Subtec Records, which features nice remixes from Adrian Andrea and Rob Zile. Coming up is one track on the Mexican well respected label Tenampa Recordings called “Lacant”, that is being released on their winter compilation in december. I also have an upcoming EP on a sublabel to Something Different Records named Different Attitudes. The EP is called “Akribi” and consists of two deep house tracks.
Regarding my Ascorbite project, there happens to be three releases in the pipeline and loads of more that is brewing in the studio. Two of these releases are dropping on Russian label Mandelstam Music and are called “Stehag EP” and “Undantag EP”. The third one is coming out on Swedish label Menial Records, run by Jesper Aubin from HMWL
I’ve also played a few sweet gigs as both Ascorbite and Edgar. Among them are the Dragonfly festival, Malmö based club Akzo, KB18 in Copenhagen and some other underground parties.
Third: New gigs are closing in. This Saturday (the 2th of March) I’m playing b2b with my dear friend Adrian Andrea (https://soundcloud.com/adrianandrea)in Lund at Smålands Nation. We’ll keep it bouncing for sure! Gonna be fun. The Saturday after this, which is the 9th, I’m going to play at a party here in Malmö together with a bunch of cool DJ’s and live acts. It’s still a secret location that probably will be announced this week, I’m not sure.
I have a new EP coming out on Stanch Records!! Looking forward to this SO much! It’s called “Internal Organist” and consists of 2 tracks that has gotten nice feedback from artists such as Slam, Cristian Varela, Paul Oakenfold, Marcus Schulz, Gayle San, Ferry Corsten, Angelo Ferreri, Richie Hawtin, Shadowfall, Michel De Hey, Gare Mat K and Above & Beyond to mention a few. Super sweet!! Dropping in a couple of weeks!
Another thing that I have to mention is that I’m working on the first EP of my new alias Ascorbite, which is to be oriented in more melodic and soft deep/tech house compared to the sounds that I’ve got going on under my regular name. It’s all very exciting!
First of all I finished a new EP today that has been sent to mastering. A real BOMB, which I’m very very satisfied with! Exciting! Second: A new release is coming up on Romanian Slot Records. No release date has been set, but I look forward to it! Third: Gig at one of Copenhagens finest venues Culture Box in Januari! The 26th to be precise. Subtec Records(where I released my debut EP at) are celebrating their second anniversary and a CD with exclusive tracks made for this event will be handed out in the beginning of the evening and released on Beatport a few weeks from this. I have a featured track called “Effluent” on this compilation. I’m Playing in the new room that they call Red Box and it’s gonna be super cool!
Make sure to check out my latest release “Under My Couch”, released on Midi Mood Records!
That’s it for now! I wish you all a lovley Thursday night.
It’s been a LONG time since I last wrote an update here. I’ll better myself, that’s a promise.
2 fun gigs in the wonderful city of Copenhagen coming up, one at the allmighty Culture Box where I’ll be playing in the recently installed “red box”. This is a Subtec Records showcase due to the 2-year anniversary in Januari and this means that if you show up in the beginning you’ll get free Heinikens for an hour + a Subtec compilation CD, exclusivley made for this event. So it’s pretty much the same as last years 1 year anniversary where we did one hell of a show. More info coming up on this one!
The other gig is at the allmighty KB18 where I have had the pleasure of playing a few times now and it’s going to be WILD. The club night is called Be-Skidt-Tech-Nik and I’m bringing my techno A-game, so don’t miss out if you get off on heavy basslines and hellish darkness.
Besides this I’ve been up to the usual. Working on new material which I hope will be out to the public as soon as possible. My second Midi Mood Records release “Under My Couch” is on it’s way and a whole lot of other new stuff is done, so I’m in the middle of label hunting at the moment.
